Why I chose my - AP 2D Art and Design: Photography - Concentration

Identity and Civil Rights. Both topics expanse and complex. As a daughter of two immigrant parents, one Cuban, the other Colombian, I knew when it came to choosing my A.P. concentration it had to be related to not only my own heritage and past but the heritage of all minorities. However, even though I do enjoy focusing on the different stories of immigrants and minorities, I believe the concentration of Identity and Civil Rights, gives me the ability to expand beyond immigrants and to truly dive into what makes up one’s identity and how various civil rights impact society.
